Joshua Bolton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication at Salisbury University. He holds an MS in Corporate Communication from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater (2012). His expertise spans Political Communication, Public Relations, and Rhetoric, with a focus on presidential campaigns, media effects, and protest communication.
His research explores topics such as candidate visibility strategies in presidential campaigns, the impact of political comedy and advertising, and narratives in presidential nominating conventions. Recent work includes analyses of primary debates and youth engagement in elections.
Dr. Bolton has published extensively since 2014, with notable studies on protest sign rhetoric and the 2016 presidential election's multimedia persuasion dynamics. He currently teaches courses and maintains professional memberships in relevant academic organizations.
