Dr Josh Weeks is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University College London (UCL) Institute for Advanced Studies, funded by the IAS Quirk Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. His research focuses on blurred representations of time in contemporary Latin American fiction and the role of language in shaping the future. He co-convenes the "Languages of the Future" research cluster, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration across UCL.

Weeks' research interests intersect Latin American literature, dictatorship studies, and cultural exchange. He explores carceral narratives, testimonial forms, and the political dimensions of translation. His work has been supported by the AHRC-funded StoryArcs programme and the Story Society at Bath Spa University.
Recent publications span carceral themes in Bolaño's texts, Borges's personal dimensions, and Pinochet-era memory studies. As a freelance critic, he contributes to The Observer, Financial Times, Los Angeles Review of Books, and Wellcome Collection Stories. Scientific awards include the IAS Quirk Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and the ASCA Finishing Fellowship.
Prior academic roles include work at UCL East's School for the Creative and Cultural Industries, and non-academic positions as an English Language Assistant in Spain. He is fluent in Spanish and actively engages with mental health discourse through his writing.
