Prof. Dr. Josette Dijkhuizen is an Endowed Professor of Sustainable Employability of Entrepreneurs in the Netherlands at Tilburg University, affiliated with the Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship in the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). She combines academic research with practical entrepreneurship, focusing on corporate entrepreneurship, social and women entrepreneurship, and psychological aspects of entrepreneurship. Her work includes consultancies, trainings, and innovative projects with societal and economic value, such as the Krachtbedrijf Foundation to assist survivors of violence in starting businesses.
Education: MSc in Management and Organization Sciences from Tilburg University (1992-1994), among other qualifications. She has held roles such as UN Women’s Representative for the Netherlands and serves on boards of organizations like Chain Logistics B.V. and AEXI.
Research Interests: Explores challenges faced by entrepreneurs, including role conflicts, loss management, and sustainable employability in sectors like healthcare and physically demanding jobs. She emphasizes translating research into actionable programs, such as the Ondernemerschap in Bedrijf (Intrapreneurship) initiative and Women4Women mentorship.
Grants & Advising: Supervised PhD candidate Mulu Berhanu and leads projects funded by Movir (income insurer for independent entrepreneurs). Collaborates with entities like the Sociaal-Economische Raad and Kamer van Koophandel.
