معرفی
Joseph Ulicki is a Researcher in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He earned his PhD in 2014 under the guidance of Professor Mahmun Hossain, focusing on Organic Chemistry. His research spans multiple areas including the synthesis of histone deacetylase inhibitors, separation techniques for actinides (e.g., americium and curium), and the design of chiral Bronsted acids for chemical derivatization. He is affiliated with the College of Letters & Science and has contributed to interdisciplinary projects at the intersection of organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, and radiochemistry.
His doctoral work included three major components: (1) developing potent HDAC inhibitors with class I selectivity, (2) creating aqueous complexes for size-based separation of americium and curium, and (3) designing chiral acids to enhance enantioselective reactions like oxazinanone derivatization and the aza-Henry reaction. These projects reflect his expertise in both synthetic chemistry and its applications in drug discovery and radiochemical processes.
Ulicki’s research is conducted within Professor Mahmun Hossain’s laboratory, emphasizing collaborative and innovative approaches to chemical synthesis and separation science. While no specific awards or grants are noted, his work contributes to advancements in medicinal chemistry and actinide chemistry.
