معرفی
Matt Sheridan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His research focuses on electrochemistry and coordination chemistry of actinides, alongside developing advanced materials for radiochemistry and nuclear applications. Key areas include organometallic electrochemistry, electrode modification, artificial photosynthesis, and actinide redox reactions.
- Developing functionalized metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent-organic frameworks (COFs) for nuclear materials.
- Expertise in electroanalytical techniques and photoreduction for uranium/americium separation.
Recent work explores light-driven water splitting, CO₂ reduction, and radiation-resistant material synthesis, with a focus on sustainable methods like electron beam irradiation for framework fabrication. His research bridges nuclear chemistry and clean energy technologies.
His group specializes in surface-bound molecular assemblies for catalysis, including ruthenium complexes and chromophore-catalyst systems, aiming to improve solar fuel generation and nuclear waste remediation.
