Joseph Nosek is the ESL Program Director and Teaching Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he has taught English since 2000. His responsibilities include courses in writing, reading, pronunciation, and academic skills preparation. He also trains international teaching assistants and students pursuing TESOL certificates.

Mr. Nosek’s professional interests center on ESL, TESOL, academic writing, and teacher training, with a focus on language education and acquisition. He has previously contributed to teacher training initiatives through the Fulbright-Hays Program, the National African Languages Resource Center, and the Gyeonggi-do Institute for Foreign Language Education in Korea.
Outside academia, he is an active musician, performing, recording, and touring with the Chicago-based blues group The Cash Box Kings. He also enjoys traveling with his wife and playing sports with his sons.
