Margareta Larsson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Applied Linguistics at Georgia State University (GSU), where she has taught since 2002. A native of Sweden, she holds an MA in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MS in Applied Linguistics and ESL from GSU. Her teaching focuses on ESL courses such as Structure and Composition (IEP 0640), Oral Communication for Academic Purposes (IEP 0720/0750), and Pronunciation and Fluency (IEP 0450). She has developed courses in academic writing, reading skills, and pronunciation.
Her research interests include pronunciation pedagogy, teacher training, and cross-cultural collaboration. She has presented at conferences like TESOL International (2018), PSSLT (2018), and TESOL Peru (2017). She co-leads grant-funded programs in the Intensive English Program (IEP), collaborating with institutions globally. In 2022, she initiated Conversation Meet Ups to connect language learners with international students.
Her professional background includes teaching at New York University’s American Language Institute and the Georgia Institute of Technology’s Language Institute. She collaborates extensively with faculty across disciplines, including the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
