Joseph M. Forgione is a Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Law and Senior Fellow at New York Law School (NYLS), where he teaches advanced intellectual property courses and directs the Fashion Law Initiative. Since 2012, he has combined academic leadership with extensive industry experience in luxury brands and technology law.

His research focuses on the intersection of technology, truth, and legal frameworks, particularly addressing Internet counterfeiting, online social networks, and intellectual property challenges in the fashion industry. As Founding Director of NYLS’s Fashion Law Initiative, he pioneers programs connecting law students with experiential learning in fashion and emerging technologies.
Professor Forgione’s career spans legal counsel roles at Richemont Americas, corporate legal departments at Chanel, and private practice with major brands like Burberry and Tiffany & Co. His professional journey began at HBO and includes internships at Esquire, GQ, and media corporations during his studies.
