Joseph J.Y. Sung

Professor Joseph J.Y. Sung is a Senior Vice President (Health & Life Sciences) and Dean of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is also a Distinguished University Professor, with fellowships from prestigious medical institutions worldwide.

Research Interests focus on gastrointestinal diseases, particularly Helicobacter pylori, peptic ulcers, colorectal cancer, and gut microbiome interactions. He pioneered endoscopic treatments for ulcer bleeding and demonstrated antibiotic efficacy for H. pylori. Recent work explores artificial intelligence applications in clinical medicine and regional cancer screening guidelines.
