Joseph J. McCarthy is the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor at the University of Pittsburgh, overseeing academic strategy for over 5,900 faculty and 34,000 students across five campuses. He also holds the William Kepler Whiteford Professorship in the Swanson School of Engineering's Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering.
