Joseph Harrington is a Pegasus Professor of Physics at UCF and Associate Vice President for Research. He pioneered measurements of exoplanet atmospheric properties using space telescopes and developed the Bayesian Atmospheric Radiative Transfer (BART) code for atmospheric retrieval.
Research Focus:
- Characterization of exoplanet atmospheres using Spitzer/James Webb telescopes
- Development of statistical methods for spectral analysis
- Planetary wave dynamics and atmospheric modeling
His leadership in space astronomy includes directing observational programs and advancing instrumentation techniques.
