Joseph F. Winter serves as Associate Professor of Accounting at Niagara University's Holzschuh College of Business Administration, having joined as adjunct faculty in Spring 2006, promoted to Assistant Professor in Fall 2013, and elevated to Associate Professor in Spring 2019. With over 30 years of CPA experience spanning public accounting (Bonadio Group) and CFO roles in healthcare, venture capital, and economic development sectors, he integrates real-world expertise into academia.
His educational credentials include:

- B.S. in Accounting from Daemen University, Amherst, New York
Research focuses on practical financial applications: healthcare fraud/waste analysis, corporate board fiduciary responsibilities, Niagara Falls economic development strategies, and micro-lending/crowdfunding models for community growth. His work bridges academic theory with municipal and nonprofit financial challenges.
Professor Winter chairs Niagara University's 403(b) Investment Committee and directs the Family Business Center while serving on the Academic Senate. Externally, he leads Erie County's Budget Review Commission and provides financial oversight as Treasurer for Health Sciences Charter School and Ashford Hollow Art Foundation, demonstrating commitment to regional economic stewardship.
