Joseph E. Aldy serves as the Teresa and John Heinz Professor of the Practice of Environmental Policy at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. He maintains additional prestigious affiliations as a University Fellow at Resources for the Future, a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Senior Adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Aldy also chairs the Regulatory Policy Program at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government and is associated with Harvard's Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability.
His research expertise spans climate change policy, energy policy, and regulatory economics, with a particular focus on carbon pricing mechanisms, climate policy design, and the economic evaluation of environmental regulations. Aldy's scholarly work demonstrates consistent engagement with both theoretical frameworks and practical policy applications, as evidenced by his numerous publications in top economics and policy journals.
