Josefa Guerrero Millan

Dr Josefa Guerrero Millan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Biophysics at Augusta University’s College of Science and Mathematics. Based in Allgood Hall E-3028, she teaches introductory and second-semester physics courses and laboratories while leading research in electrohydrodynamics and microfluidics.

Research Interests

Guerrero Millan’s scholarship focuses on the electrohydrodynamic stimulation of liquid jets, with particular attention to electrified jets in coflowing liquids, microfluidic system design, and advanced numerical simulations of interfacial flows. Her work bridges fundamental fluid physics and microscale engineering applications such as droplet generation, capsule formation and photon-upconversion platforms.

Recent Publication Trends

Between 2012 and 2017 she published five peer-reviewed works (four journal articles and one book chapter) that collectively chart the evolution of capillary jet instabilities from linear stability analysis to applied photonic materials, highlighting a trajectory from theoretical physics toward functional microdevices.
