Dr. Jose Ricardo Sodre is a Reader and Head of the Department of Mechanical, Biomedical and Design Engineering at Aston University, UK. He previously served as Associate Professor and Automotive Engineering Team Leader at Birmingham City University, and as Associate Professor and Director of Postgraduate Programmes in Mechanical Engineering at Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas), Brazil. His research focuses on Sustainable Energy and Transport Decarbonisation, with expertise in biofuels, hydrogen, fuel cells, and transport electrification.

Grants & Partnerships: Led over £8.5M in grants with industry partners such as FIAT-Chrysler, IVECO, PETROBRAS, and HORIBA. Supervised 11 PhD and 27 MSc students.
Labs/Teams: Leads the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute (EBRI) at Aston University.
