Jose Ortega, Jr. is an Adjunct Professor in the TESOL department at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology. He also serves as a literacy specialist and professional development coordinator for Pasadena Unified School District, focusing on equity, diversity, and inclusion in literacy instruction.
- BA in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from University of Southern California
- MA in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University
His research and practice emphasize creating equitable literacy education frameworks and fostering inclusive learning environments where students can become societal change agents. Ortega integrates his extensive K-12 teaching background through practical applications in professional development and urban education strategies.
