Jos G.W. Kosterink serves as a Professor at the University of Groningen, holding dual affiliations with the Faculty of Science and Engineering and the Faculty of Medical Sciences/University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). He leads the Biopharmaceuticals, Discovery, Design and Delivery (BDDD) research group within the Department of PharmacoTherapy, Epidemiology and Economics. Since January 2019, he has directed the Groningen University Institute for Drug Exploration (GUIDE), a Graduate School of Medical Sciences initiative.
Professor Kosterink's research spans multiple critical areas in clinical pharmacology, with particular expertise in Pharmacokinetics (100% fingerprint match), Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (55%), and specialized applications in Multi-Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (37%), Neoplasm treatment (35%), and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (24%). His work consistently addresses real-world medication challenges, focusing on optimizing drug therapy through precise monitoring and innovative delivery systems. Recent publications demonstrate his leadership in translating pharmacological research into clinical practice across infectious disease, oncology, and transplantation medicine.
His 2025 publications reveal strong trends in personalized dosing strategies, with significant contributions to tuberculosis treatment optimization, oncology pharmacoeconomics, transplant immunosuppression monitoring, and advanced bioanalytical methods. These works collectively address medication safety, cost-effectiveness, and therapeutic precision across multiple disease states.
