Joris Van Wezemael is Associate Professor at ETH Zürich's Institute for Spatial and Landscape Development, linking geography with urbanism and spatial planning. His research examines the metamorphosis of urban landscapes through complexity theory, demographic dynamics, technology-space interactions, and housing/real estate systems.
As Head of MAS/CAS/DAS programs and co-owner of IVO Innenentwicklung AG, he bridges academic and professional practice. Current projects include Streetwise (commercial structures) and decentralized Switzerland studies. Previous SNF projects analyzed urban events, city images, and design competitions.
