Jorie Lagerwey is a Professor in Television Studies at the School of English, Drama and Film, University College Dublin. Her research intersects feminist criticism, critical race theory, and celebrity culture, focusing on gender and race representation in transatlantic television and digital media. She has authored and co-edited influential works like Horrible White People (2020) and Single Lives (2022), and her scholarship appears in journals such as JCMS and Television and New Media.

Lagerwey’s research explores TV genre, discourses of quality, and the affective dimensions of media.
