Jorge X. Camacho is a Clinical Lecturer in Law and Associate Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School, serving as Director of the Justice Collaboratory. His roles focus on Policing, Law, and Policy. He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School (2010) and a B.A. from Swarthmore College (2007), where he was a Philip Evans Scholar.
His research interests center on criminal justice reform, policing policy, and social justice advocacy. Prior to Yale, he served as Senior Counsel at the New York City Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice and the Office of the Corporation Counsel. He also worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan, contributing to task forces like the Mayor’s Task Force on Cannabis Legalization, where he chaired the Subcommittee on Law Enforcement and Social Justice.
Awarded the Philip Evans Scholar distinction during his undergraduate studies, his career reflects a commitment to legal policy and systemic reform. He is affiliated with the Justice Collaboratory, a research initiative advancing evidence-based justice policies.
