Jorge's research and teaching focus on early childhood education from birth to age five, with a strong emphasis on social and emotional development, emotional intelligence, and equitable practices. His work is informed by over 25 years of experience across Head Start, state preschools, special education programs, lab schools, and private centers. He is passionate about empowering future educators and advocating for systemic change in early learning environments.
Jorge is currently developing a curriculum toolkit focused on helping young children articulate and express emotions healthily, inspired by personal challenges with emotional suppression and the loss of his father. His goal is to prevent similar struggles in future generations by integrating emotional validation into early education.
