Jorge Moscat is a Spanish-US dual citizen serving as Professor and Chairman at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine since 2008, with additional roles as Adjunct Professor at the University of California San Diego (since 2013) and Scientific Director at the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute (since 2012).
- Education: BS in Biochemistry (1975-1980), PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (1981-1984), both from Universidad Complutense Madrid
His research focuses on the molecular and cellular biology of cancer and inflammation, particularly mechanisms of stress response in cancer cells. He has received numerous fellowships from Spanish and international institutions, including the British Council and 'Juan March' Foundation, and is a member of EMBO and Academia Europaea.

Moscat has served on NIH study sections (2010-2012) and as Director of the Institute for Diabetes and Obesity at Helmholtz Zentrum München (since 2012). He was Scientific Coordinator of Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) biology institutes (2004-2006) and Director of Instituto de Biología Molecular (CSIC) (1998-2002).
