Gutierrez Crisanto

Crisanto Gutierrez is a Professor at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and Head of the Genome Dynamics and Function Program at the Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa (CBMSO), affiliated with the Autonomous University of Madrid. His research focuses on plant cell cycle regulation, DNA replication, chromatin dynamics, and epigenetic mechanisms in Arabidopsis. He has held academic roles since 1982, including leadership positions like Director of the Institute of Molecular Biology (CSIC, 2002–2006). Gutierrez’s work bridges molecular genetics and developmental biology, with contributions to understanding endoreplication, root growth, and the functional organization of plant genomes.
