Jorge L. Medina

Jorge L. Medina is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of the Incarnate Word's Feik School of Pharmacy. He joined the institution in spring 2019 and contributes to its social justice mission through a learner-centered teaching approach.

Dr. Medina's research focuses on allergic inflammation, asthma, and wound healing. His prior postdoctoral fellowship at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research explored scar formation mechanisms after severe burns and potential treatments to prevent scarring. He combines expertise in microbiology, immunology, and biomedical research to address respiratory diseases and tissue repair processes.
