Jorge Cuartas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Psychology at New York University's Steinhardt School, leading the Catalyzing Action for Resilient Ecologies (CARE) lab. He holds advanced degrees from Harvard University, Universidad de los Andes, and Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano, specializing in Human Development, Economics, and Education.
His research focuses on resilience promotion, violence prevention, early childhood programs, and climate change impacts on development. He employs interdisciplinary methods like econometrics and meta-analysis, with publications in The Lancet, Nature Human Behaviour, and Child Development. His work bridges academia and policy, informed by global collaborations with UNICEF, the World Bank, and Colombia's government.
