Jorge A. Ghiso

Jorge A. Ghiso is a Research Professor at the Department of Pathology, NYU Grossman School of Medicine, specializing in the genetic and biochemical basis of Alzheimer Disease, molecular neuroscience, cellular neuroscience, and translational neuroscience.

• Education: PhD from National University of Rosario.

Research Interests: His work focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's, examining mechanisms like redox homeostasis, mitochondrial dysfunction, and amyloid-beta proteoforms. He has pioneered studies on truncated Aβ species and their pathogenic roles in dementia.

Publications: His recent research explores Nrf2 signaling in Alzheimer's, isoAsp7-Aβ variants, pericyte heterogeneity in amyloid deposition, and protease-driven Aβ elongation, spanning molecular and cellular neuroscience disciplines.
