Jordynn Jack is a Professor in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She holds a PhD and MA in English from Pennsylvania State University and a BA in English from York University, Canada. Her research bridges rhetoric, science, medicine, technology, and gender studies, with a focus on the intersections of rhetoric in scientific and medical contexts.
Key research interests include neurorhetorics, feminist historiography, disability studies, and the rhetoric of science and medicine. She co-directs the HHIVE Lab, exploring health humanities through collaborative projects with students. Her books include Raveling the Brain (2019), Autism and Gender (2014), and Science on the Home Front (2009).
Award-winning work includes the RSA Book Award (2015) for Autism and Gender and the Article of the Year Award (2019) for Healing Arts. Grants include the URCT Award (2018) and Creativity Hub Pilot Award (2018). Courses taught span rhetoric, science writing, and health humanities. She has presented widely at conferences such as RSA and CCCC, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to rhetoric and public policy.
