Jordi Comas Trayter

Jordi Comas Trayter is a Professor at the Faculty of Tourism, University of Girona, where he teaches in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Tourism. He is affiliated with the Department of Organization, Business Management and Product Design and conducts research through the Institute of Tourism Research (INSETUR), where he served as director from 2015 to 2019.

His research focuses on the economic and financial management of tourism enterprises, with interests in business success determinants, economic impact of tourism and events, relational networks, competitiveness, and destination image. He applies his expertise in economic viability studies and expert judicial reports.

Jordi Comas Trayter has contributed to scientific publications and knowledge transfer projects for public and private organizations. His work bridges academic research and practical application in tourism economics and business management.

He has completed over 150 expert economic assessments used in judicial proceedings to determine economic damages such as lost profits (lucre cessant) and direct losses (dany emergent), commissioned by companies, insurance firms, and individuals.

He is a member of the Research Group on Organizational Networks, Innovation and Development of Tourism Strategies and Products (ONIT) and actively contributes to applied research and policy support in the tourism sector.
