Jordan Pober, MD, PhD is the Bayer Professor of Translational Medicine and Professor of Immunobiology, Pathology, and Dermatology at Yale School of Medicine. He serves as Director of the Human and Translational Immunology Program and Vice-Chair of the Department of Immunobiology for the Section of Human and Translational Immunology. Dr. Pober is also co-founder and co-director of the Joint Yale-Cambridge University Biomedical Research Program and a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge.
Dr. Pober's research focuses on understanding blood vessel functions in human inflammatory and immune responses, and how inflammation and immunity affect vascular health. His work addresses three interrelated problems in vascular endothelial cell biology: T lymphocyte recognition of antigens presented by vascular cells, signaling pathways activated by immune cells within endothelial cells, and pathways of cell injury induced by leukocytes. His experimental approaches involve cultured cell populations, chimeric animal models, and human tissue analysis.
His recent publications demonstrate strong activity across multiple disciplines including vascular biology, transplantation immunology, tissue engineering, and mathematical modeling of biological systems. The research output shows consistent productivity with numerous high-impact publications in 2024-2025 across journals like Nature Communications, American Journal of Transplantation, and Nature Cardiovascular Research.
