Jonty Lees is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BA(Hons) Fine Art at Falmouth University. He co-directs the Falmouth Painting Platform and holds leadership roles in residencies and public art initiatives.

His research explores how artistic practice is shaped by institutions, education systems, and studio environments. Key interests include repetition, digital image-making, cultural placemaking, and the intersection of art with public space and heritage.
Recent projects include the Freelands Studio Fellowship (2024–26), Camborne School of Mines Public Art Commission (2024), and the Goldfish Bowl Gallery initiative (launching 2025). He has secured grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England, and AHRC.
He engages extensively with Cornwall's cultural and educational policies, serving as a School Governor at St Ives Junior School, Board Member of the Borlase Smart John Wells Trust, and External Examiner for Cornwall College. Past roles include Director of Pool School Gallery CIC and Resident Artist at Tate St Ives.
