Joni Rinker-Dozier

Joni Rinker-Dozier is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, affiliated with the departments of Art and Art History and Curriculum and Instruction. She holds a BFA in Art from SUNY Fredonia (1991), an MA in Art Therapy from Marywood University (1995), and an MS in Education from Canisius College (1996). With 35 years in public education, she taught Junior High Art at Ousley Junior High in Arlington ISD for 26 years before joining UTA in August 2023.

Her teaching focuses on courses such as SENIOR EXHIBITION (ART 4100), TECHNOLOGY IN ART EDUCATION (ART 4365), and INTRO TO ART EDUCATION (ART 3322). She has consistently taught these courses from 2023 to 2025, emphasizing hands-on learning and exhibition preparation.

Rinker-Dozier’s expertise spans art education, art therapy, and integrating technology into art pedagogy. Her career blends clinical art therapy training with decades of K-12 art instruction, reflecting a commitment to both creative practice and educational innovation.
