Joni Holmes is Professor of Psychology at University of East Anglia, specializing in neurodevelopmental diversity and cognitive functioning. Her transdiagnostic research examines executive functions and working memory across conditions like ADHD, dyslexia, and autism. Holmes leads studies on cognitive interventions and developmental trajectories funded by NIHR and British Academy.
With prior leadership at MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit (Cambridge), she developed novel assessment frameworks mapping neurodevelopmental diversity. Holmes teaches cognitive development and neurodiversity courses, while supervising PhD research on attention, learning, and memory. She serves as Editor-in-Chief of 'Neurodiversity' and contributes to national research policy through BPS committees.
