Jonghwa Oh

Dr. Jonghwa Oh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and Director of the Industrial Hygiene program at the Deep South Center for Occupational Health and Safety. She holds a PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from UAB and has expertise in occupational exposure assessment, nanotechnology, and environmental engineering.

She also investigates ergonomic interventions and environmental health risks in workplaces like food trucks and nail salons.

Grants and Collaborations:

• Recipient of CDC grants for the Deep South Occupational Safety and Health Education and Research Center (2022–present).
• Lead on projects involving PTD technology development, funded by UAB and external partners.

Professional Contributions: She serves on UAB committees for curriculum design and faculty recruitment, and is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. Her work bridges nanotechnology applications with occupational safety, emphasizing real-world solutions for worker health.
