Dr Jonathon Weakley is a Lecturer at the Australian Catholic University and an Associate Research Fellow at Leeds Beckett University (UK). He holds a PhD and has completed a post-doctoral position with the Rugby Football Union. His expertise lies in strength and power development, youth and team sports, and velocity-based training. He supervises PhD students and consults for professional sports teams and technology companies.
Dr Weakley has authored over 50 peer-reviewed publications focusing on strength and conditioning. His research explores topics like ergogenic aids, resistance training methodologies, and athletic performance optimization. His work bridges applied sports science with technological innovation, including validation of ultrasonic and optic laser technologies for athlete performance measurement.
