Dr. Jonathan Williams is an Associate Professor of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Bournemouth University's Faculty of Health and Social Science. His research focuses on the intersection of Physiotherapy and Biomechanics, particularly in clinical rehabilitation and sports contexts. He holds a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and has received grants from institutions like Santander and the Private Physiotherapy Education Foundation.

Williams leads research on miniature body-worn sensors for human movement analysis, with particular emphasis on spinal biomechanics, balance assessment, and CPR training optimization. His recent publications highlight advancements in IMU technology for real-world spinal monitoring, dual-task balance studies, and novel CPR retraining methods. He supervises PhD students working on topics like spinal kinematics, wobble board training, and commercial wearable applications in rehabilitation.
