Jonathan T Naito is an Associate Professor of English and Associate Dean of Humanities at St. Olaf College. He is affiliated with the Gender and Sexuality Studies program, Race and Ethnic Studies, and the Provost's Office. His academic journey began at Reed College (B.A.) and continued at UCLA (Ph.D.).
Research interests include Anglophone postcolonial literature, 20th- and 21st-century British literature, and drama/performance studies, with a focus on Samuel Beckett's works and their intersections with African diaspora themes. He has presented at international conferences in Ireland, South Africa, and Japan.
His publications span critical essays in academic journals like Samuel Beckett Today/Aujord’hui and Arizona Quarterly, as well as contributions to edited volumes such as The Black and Green Atlantic. He is currently working on his first book.
