Dr. Jonathan Radocay is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at the University of Washington. A citizen of Cherokee Nation, his work focuses on intersections of Native American/Indigenous Studies, literary analysis, and modernist studies. He holds a Ph.D. in English and Native American Studies from UC Davis (2023) and a B.A. in English and Philosophy from UC Irvine (2010).
His current book project, Stories in Severalty, examines Indigenous engagements with U.S. allotment policies through literary and political frameworks. Ongoing research integrates personal/family narratives with broader community histories of allotment's impacts. He has published in venues like Modernism/modernity and Wicazo Sa Review, contributing to The Routledge Handbook of North American Indigenous Modernisms (winner of the MSA's 2022 Edited Collection award).
Awarded the Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship (2022-23), his work bridges academic scholarship with public-facing initiatives. Teaching emphasizes Indigenous literatures and critical modernist studies.
