Jonathan O'Conner

Jonathan O'Conner is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Department Chair of Romance Languages at St. Olaf College. His work bridges literary analysis, cultural studies, and critical pedagogy.

• Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Research focuses on:

• Literature and cultures of early modern Spain
• Colonial Latin America
• Gender and sexuality in post-Franco Spain
• Deconstruction of nationalist narratives (e.g., Spanish colonization of the Americas)

He has led study abroad programs in Ecuador and taught courses on:
