Jonathan Martin is a Professor at Stockholm University's Department of Environmental Science (ACES), where he leads the Exposure and Effects Unit (ACESx) and serves as Scientific Director at the National Facility for Exposomics, SciLifeLab. His research focuses on chemical exposomics, combining analytical chemistry and informatics to measure complex contaminant mixtures in environments and human biofluids. He also teaches in ACES' Master’s program.
Research Interests: Martin’s work centers on advancing chemical exposomics methodologies for analyzing environmental and human exposure to contaminants. He develops high-throughput techniques like MS2Tox for toxicity prediction and phospholipid removal protocols to enhance plasma analysis. Projects include HiChem for high-frequency sampling and The organohalogen iceberg for identifying unknown organohalogen compounds.
Scientific Awards:
- NSERC Fellowship (2004)
Collaborative Initiatives: He leads the National Facility for Exposomics at SciLifeLab, which provides exposomics services to Swedish and international researchers. The facility integrates with platforms specializing in genomics, epigenomics, proteomics, and biostatistics.
