He holds a PhD in architecture and urban microclimates from UNSW, along with a Master of Sustainability from USyd, BArch, BAS from WITS, and BSc (Eng) from UCT.
His research focuses on urban microclimates, urban heat mitigation, climate-sensitive design, and sustainable development. Fox specializes in the effects of facade design on outdoor microclimate and pedestrian thermal comfort, with strong interest in transdisciplinarity and knowledge transfer between science and design.
His recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on urban heat island effects, cooling strategies, and the application of thermal comfort principles in architectural design across various urban contexts including Sydney and Darwin. His work bridges academic research with practical applications for urban planners and architects.
