Jonathan K Gamu

Dr. Jonathan K Gamu is a Lecturer in International Politics at the University of Sheffield's School of Sociological Studies, Politics and International Relations. He joined in 2018 after serving as a Brazilian National Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Brasilia. His PhD research at the University of British Columbia analyzed social conflicts around mining operations in Peru.

Research interests focus on:

• Corporate power and natural resource management
• Transnational environmental governance
• Political economy of extractive industries
• Conflict dynamics in the global South

Publications examine environmental security, mining governance, and transnational advocacy, with regional expertise in Latin America. Recent work explores the intersection of corporate responsibility and socio-environmental conflict in resource-rich regions.
