Jonathan Gordon is a Professor of Lawyering Skills at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and serves as Director of the SJD Program. He has taught legal analysis and writing to JD students for a generation and now focuses on First Year Seminar, Advanced Seminar, and Professional Responsibility for international students in the SJD and LLM programs. He also teaches at Southwest University of Political Science and Law in Chongqing, China.

Gordon specializes in legal writing, civil rights law, and employment discrimination law. His career bridges academic instruction in lawyering skills with practical legal experience in civil rights and professional responsibility. He has also contributed to global legal education through teaching and speaking engagements.
As a founding member of the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Summer Legal Academy and mentor in the Provost Scholars Program, Gordon actively supports student development. He has served as faculty liaison for externships with federal agencies and advocates for student groups like BLSA, SPILF, and Street Law. His work extends to legal consulting and membership in the Legal Writing Institute and Association of Legal Writing Directors.
