Jonathan Gingerich is an Associate Professor of Law at Rutgers University and Associate Graduate Faculty in Philosophy. He holds dual affiliations with Rutgers Law School (Newark campus) and the University College London Department of Philosophy through his ERC-funded SPONT project (2024-2029). His research bridges ethics, political philosophy, and jurisprudence with practical implications for constitutional law, property systems, and technology governance.

His work focuses on spontaneous freedom's ethical/political dimensions, Simone de Beauvoir's moral philosophy, and legal frameworks governing AI/technology. He has held prior positions at King's College London (2019-2023) and Washington University in St. Louis (2018-2019).
