Jonathan Deacon is a Professor of Marketing at the University of South Wales, leading research on entrepreneurial firms’ market creation strategies and SME marketing in the digital era. He holds a PhD in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from the University of Ulster and has extensive external roles, including Vice Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Board Member of the European Marketing Confederation, and Trustee of the CAM Foundation. His research focuses on the intersection of marketing, entrepreneurship, and design thinking, with a particular emphasis on small firm strategies and education.

Key Contributions: Editor of the Journal of Research in Marketing and Entrepreneurship (2008–2014), founding member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Small Business Community group, and organizer of international conferences like 'Telling the Story of Business'.
