Jonathan Dawson

Jonathan Dawson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering & Physics at Whitworth University, joined in 2023. His research focuses on biophysics, computational modeling of biological systems, statistical physics, and collective cell behavior in biological tissues. He holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the Max Planck Institute-PKS and Dresden University of Technology (Germany), and a B.Tech in Electronics Engineering from Sam Higginbottom University, India.

His work explores topics such as electrotaxis in osteoblasts, auxin biosynthesis in plant development, and cell volume dynamics in epithelial morphogenesis. Notable contributions include modeling endosomal network dynamics and studying synthetic Notch signaling patterns. Dawson has presented at venues like the American Physical Society and Cornell University.
