Jonathan D. Glater

Jonathan D. Glater is a Professor of Law at Berkeley Law, where he joined the faculty in 2021. He serves as Associate Dean for J.D. Curriculum and Teaching and as Faculty Director of the Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice. With Dalié Jiménez, he co-founded the Student Loan Law Initiative, an interdisciplinary partnership with the Student Borrower Protection Center.

Recent scholarly work focuses on the intersection of education debt, equity, and civil rights. He was appointed to the California Civil Rights Council in 2023 to develop regulations for civil rights law implementation.

He co-chairs the New York City Bar Association’s Committee on Education and the Law and teaches courses including Education Law & Policy, Criminal Law, and Disability Law.
