Jonathan D. Bostic is a Professor at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in the School of Inclusive Teacher Education. He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from the University of Florida and has been a faculty member at BGSU since 2011, teaching courses on mathematics instruction across K-12 levels.

Dr. Bostic’s research focuses on assessment and evaluation in mathematics education, mathematical modeling, problem-solving frameworks, and teacher professional development. He advocates for Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and reduced testing burdens to prioritize instructional time. His work includes developing Problem Solving Measures (PSMs) for grades 3–8 and creating computer-adaptive testing tools.
Dr. Bostic’s recent publications emphasize validity arguments, assessment redesign for inclusivity, and leveraging real-world contexts in mathematics education. He has secured over $16 million in external funding from the National Science Foundation and other agencies to support assessment development and teacher training initiatives. He serves on editorial boards for multiple journals and advisory roles for NSF-funded projects.
