Associate Professor Jonathan Campbell holds a BA, LLB (UCT), and LLM (Rhodes). He has been an attorney for 26 years, serving as Director of the Rhodes University Law Clinic for 21 years and previously as Dean of Law (2009–2014). His work integrates clinical legal education into the LLB curriculum, expanding the Clinic to 14 staff and 40 outreach paralegal offices across the Eastern Cape.

Research focuses on clinical legal education, consumer law, family law, and practical legal skills. Recent publications address legal education reforms, consumer credit regulation, and the National Credit Act's impact on microloans.
