Jonathan Breuer

Jonathan Breuer is a Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He previously held a Sherman Fairchild Postdoctoral position at Caltech's Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on analysis and mathematical physics, particularly spectral theory, with expertise in random Schrödinger operators, random matrices, orthogonal polynomials, and spectral geometry. Breuer has organized conferences on topics like random matrices and spectral theory, including the 24th Midrasha Mathematicae in 2023. His teaching includes courses on infinitesimal calculus and differential equations. He earned his PhD from Hebrew University under Yoram Last and MSc in chemistry under David Avnir.

Research emphasizes spectral properties of operators, with contributions to transport phenomena in complex media and spectral geometry.
