Jonathan Bisesi is an Assistant Professor of Percussion at the Conservatory of Music, Berklee College of Music, joining in 2021. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from Boston University, with additional training at the Pacific Music Festival (2000) and Tanglewood Music Center (2001).
- Current percussionist with the United States Marine Band ('President’s Own') since 2004
- Faculty roles at George Mason University School of Music (2014–present), Sunderman Conservatory of Music (2013–2015), and Boston University (2002–2004)
- Cofounded Network for Diversity in Concert Percussion (2020) and Dragonfly Online Percussion Experience
His research and professional activities focus on expanding diversity, equity, and inclusion in concert percussion through mentorship programs, equipment innovation (signature xylophone mallets from Dragonfly Percussion), and advocacy via publications with Meredith Music, Pocket Publications, and AcuteByDesign. Notable performances include collaborations with the Cleveland Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra.
